Room with a view

Single bed with no bounce. Small desk, a little place to hang a few things and a sink. Simple and clean. A quick walk down the hall to the showers and toilet. Phone turned off, digital detox had begun.

MONKEY brain was in full gear by this stage, asking me all types of questions. How many people are doing this ? Will I sleep tonight in that lumpy old bed? Will I turn into a Vegan in the next 48 hours? Will I get a DVT from sitting in the meditation position? On and on they went round and round. So I just sat and looked out the window and told myself you can do this, you did 5 days last time and after the anxiety subsided it was wonderful……

THE VIEW out the window, well it grounded me, it was beautiful to look at and when I went outside I stood under the tree, I felt its coolness and wisdom. Yes nature is so soothing and the monkeys ran for the trees and left my mind alone……….

Silence for a given period of time is such a wonderful gift to give oneself, free from the distractions of every day life and the constant noise of voices.

The retreat is very simple, no lavish foods, no massages, no luxury to be seen anywhere, no constant instruction, no heated rocks or pampering, no competition and no small talk with randoms on some JOURNEY.

Its not for everyone that’s for sure. Plain and simple, a retreat allowing for personal reflection in a beautiful nurturing space created by the facilitator , also the energy of the participants and the gorgeous women who hold the space and tend the gardens. Thankyou.

As I left the retreat I waved to the monkeys up in the trees. I hoped they enjoyed themselves as they played and jumped around from limb to limb……….until we meet again monkey mind…

PS: I had 10 hours straight sleep on the second night, even missed morning YOGA.
