BUT then again maybe I do…..one that takes great pictures, with lots more megapixels, smaller, lighter and faster – enough pixels so it can be blown up onto a huge billboard outside the airport. A camera, marketed by a good company that’s been around for a long long time……a camera that’s water resistant, dust proof, auto focus, takes great bird photos the list continues….. So many many many options these days it can be overwhelming for the beginner and even the hobbyists…..in someways it’s a deterrent to actually getting involved in photography…..
I get asked all the time; What camera should I buy, what’s lens do I need?
Is that a good camera? Will it take bird photos? landscape? closeups? the list goes on and on. One thing I can tell you; it will be worth half the price you paid for it as soon as you hold it in yr hand. A new model will be released in 6-12 months and you will want want want another…..with all the new extras, limited edition cameras, will it take better photos…NO
The constant barrage of NEW technology in cameras really does very little to improve the final image. All digital cameras are good enough and capable of producing a good image, with the right technique…..or just put it on AUTO..like most people live life…….
I have upgraded cameras, lenses, even camera bags and the end result is the same…..want want want, does not equate to any greater enjoyment for me. All the little upgrades and bigger sensors have not improved my photography. Sure I can print bigger with more detail. Have I printed any larger than A2…NO. Do I stare at the images and go “Oh my look at the detail!!!!! NO..
Enjoy the camera gear you have and replace when it doesn’t work…..don’t get caught in the consumer culture. Help save the planet.
